Welcome to Louisiana Tech’s Research Enterprise!
Louisiana Tech is classified as a Carnegie R2 (Research University/High Activity) institution. We take great pride in the exceptional quality of our research, as reflected in the peer-reviewed publications that report our discoveries and innovations, and the competitive external funding we secure to support that research. Nearly everything we do involve our students.
One of the distinguishing characteristics of our research enterprise is deeply ingrained culture of collaboration within and across the academic and research units. Our research centers provide the infrastructure to conduct world-class research in a range of topics like traumatic brain injury, targeted drug delivery systems, micro- and nano-scale technologies for a wide range of applications, catalysts for energy applications, a range of technologies for underground infrastructure installation, monitoring, and rehabilitation, and the discovery and development of novel construction materials with tunable properties and reduced carbon footprint.
The integration of our research enterprise with the academic mission of the University has resulted in curricula that meet critical national needs, development of a technologically trained workforce in the region, and contributions to economic development through partnerships with industries. Many of our industry partners have locations in our campus so as to gain ready access to both our students and our researchers.
Thank you for your interest in Louisiana Tech University’s research enterprise.
