Tech announces new 'enterprise campus'
Design plans were announced today for Louisiana Tech University’s planned $25 million research park.
Calling the park Tech’s “enterprise campus,” President Dan Reneau said, “We’re off and running if we can get the right property.”
Tech has chosen land just across from Bogard Hall. Now it’s up the state to procure the property.
University and state officials have said the park will be a major component in revitalizing economic growth in northern Louisiana.
The announcement came just days ahead of the “Tech Happening” scheduled in Monroe next Tuesday, where more details are likely to be unveiled.
Tech’s efforts in making the research park a reality have beefed up within the past two years along with its research productivity — an increase in patents and licensing. The park will be a home for companies that want to be affiliated with Tech’s expanded research in cyberspace protection, nanotechnology, biomedical engineering and micromanufacturing.
