Novel Environmentally Responsive Nanoparticles for Dual Controlled Drug Release of Diallyl Trisulfide and Sodium Nitrite Orally
The objective of this project is to determine the release of nitrite and/or diallyl trisulfide (DATS) from nanoscale, pH-responsive poly anionic polymer networks. The formulation of these nanocarrier systems is to simultaneously deliver both hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecules in a controlled release manner. Work in the Kevil Lab will analyze liquid samples at different time points for levels of nitrite and/or DATS using analytical nitric oxide chemiluminescence and HPLC detection, respectively.
