REU Site: Undergraduate Research in Micro/Nanoengineering

Description :

The investigator of this project seeks to extend the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program with a focus on the Scientific Method and Engineering Design Process as frameworks for developing students as independent researchers. This proposed 10 week program includes the recruitment of 10 undergraduate students outside Louisiana Tech University to gain experience in micro/nanoengineering and a greater understanding for the research process. Students may focus on problems in micro or nanoengineering pertaining to chemistry, physics, biology, and multiple engineering disciplines while receiving training in general research issues under a faculty mentor. Student deliverables will be analyzed to determine the impact of the Scientific Method and Engineering Design Process frameworks on the ability to perform research.
