The objective of the investigators of this project is to foster economic development in Louisiana through the development of the LONI Institute (LI), which will promote advancements in materials science and biology. This goal may be accomplished through: the recruitment and training of faculty, staff and students for IT-oriented positions, collaborations with other LONI sites, the initiation of 80+ novel research projects, and the incorporation of computational science into educational curriculums.
