Statistical Methods for Fractional Birth-Death Processes

Description :  

The objectives of the researchers of this proposed project is to implement fractional birth-death processes and develop variant/fractional queue models, which could simultaneously capture Markov and non-Markov behaviors found in internet traffic, cancer cells and other activities. This may be accomplished through the derivation of process properties, development of an estimation procedure, construction of an algorithm for sample path simulation and process characterization using subordination for alternative interpretation. The proposed research could prove vital in biological, engineering and software applications by improving standard modeling procedures.
