Highway for Life Demonstration Project: LA 511 (70th Street)

Description :

In an attempt to increase the utilization of highway safety and quality innovations capable of reducing construction congestion, the researchers of this project will document activities performed in a LTRC/LADOTD construction project on the LA 511 widening project in Caddo Parish. By incorporating innovative features including Open Graded Friction Course, Roller Compacted Concrete, Asphalt Treated Base Course and Precast Gravity Retaining Walls, the goal of increasing driver satisfaction and safety may be met. The investigators of this research will conduct a user satisfaction survey in conjunction with data provided by the LTRC/LADOTD in both pre- and post-construction phases in order to potentially demonstrate the efficiency and practicality of the innovations.
