Protein Drug Microencapsulation

Description :  

This project is a collaborative effort between Dr. Yuri Lvov and Epic to develop improved methods of coating Epic’s PROMAXX microspheres using various layers of polymers in order to modify microsphere characteristics.  The objectives of this project are to: develop procedures for coating PROMAXX protein microspheres with layers of biocompatible polyions in order to decorate the particle surface and modify particle properties, to develop procedures for the coating of protein microspheres with multiple layers of polyion coating to obtain improved release properties, and to develop procedures for coating of microspheres with multiple layers of polyions coating to obtain controlled release properties utilizing amphiphilic compounds.
