As a research intensive doctoral-granting institution, Louisiana Tech University considers research and scholarly activities to be fundamental to its mission. Research investigations are quite varied, ranging from the study of Latin American History to the exploration of the behavior of quarks. Whether for discovery, service, performance, or commercial purposes, research contributes to the fabric of the university and leads to the transformation of those who associate with the institution.

Each of our colleges has developed research programs in areas consistent with their missions and focus areas.

Louisiana Tech's funded research is primarily focused in interdisciplinary research centers and institutes. All of these centers have faculty participation from multiple academic programs, departments and colleges.
